Each side of a sheet counts as one page, so a book’s cover alone includes 4 pages: front cover, inside front cover, inside back cover, and back cover.
Binding-Specific Page Counts:
The binding method you choose will influence the page count range:
Perfect bound books are not designed to lay flat when opened. Forcing them to do so can damage the spine and weaken the glue holding the pages together. To maintain the book’s quality and durability, avoid pressing it down.
Pricing reflects the cost of one edition only per book. If you need additional editions or multiple covers, this requires a custom quote.
The listed pricing is for portrait orientation soft cover books only. If you’re interested in hardcover or landscape formats, please request a custom quote.
Coated paper has a smooth finish that visually sharpens images and enhances color. The coating can be glossy or semi-gloss, depending on the desired effect, but both options contribute to a polished, professional look.
Uncoated paper has a natural, porous surface. It’s perfect for projects where readability and a tactile feel are priorities. It’s also a practical option for items that need to be written on, like letterheads or notepads.
If your project includes color anywhere – even a single image or logo – it’s a 4-color (4C) job. Our standard pricing is designed for 4C printing, providing vibrant, professional results fast.
Single-color (one-ink) printing is available by custom quote and may offer some cost savings, but 4C remains the most common option. If you’re unsure, we are happy to talk with you to determine the best options for your unique printing needs.
Once PDF proofs are approved, production can take approximately 3 days for saddle stitched publications and roughly 3-5 days for perfect bound, plus shipping. Shipping times vary from next-day delivery to a few days, depending on your location relative to our NYC print house.
If you need a precise timeline, send us your project details, and we’ll set up a schedule that works for you.

When you need a large-scale printing solution, offset printing stands out as the preferred choice.
Thomas Group Printing, a respected name in the commercial printing industry, has been serving top-tier clients since 1912. Although offset printing, also known as lithographic printing, has a longstanding history, it continues to be the premier option for producing high-quality, crisp prints in bulk.
Perfect for Boston’s dynamic market—from academic materials for renowned universities to high-volume event promotions during the Boston Marathon—Thomas Group Printing delivers top-notch offset printing services throughout the city.
Our commitment to excellence ensures that whether it’s a major print run for local conferences or marketing materials for startups in the Innovation District, we provide quality, professionalism, and free delivery.
Offset printing is ideal for large-scale projects, offering significant cost savings as the quantity increases.
The initial setup involves creating printing plates and configuring the offset press, but this cost becomes more economical with larger print volumes.
Unlike digital printing, where costs remain constant, offset printing reduces the cost per piece significantly after a certain threshold.
If you’re wondering which printing method suits your project best, our seasoned press team is ready to assist.
The process involves transferring your image directly onto a printing plate, which is then applied to a flexible rubber sheet on the press.
This sheet rolls the ink onto the paper, resulting in sharp, vibrant images. Known as direct-to-plate or computer-to-plate offset printing, this method is highly efficient for large runs and offers precision that rivals digital printing.
Our offset printing service caters to a variety of needs, including reports, catalogs, magazines, posters, and books.
Typically, projects requiring over 2,500 units are ideal for offset printing. We also provide various finishing options post-printing, like saddle-stitching, folding, and binding, to customize the final product to your specifications.
